Dr. Marina’s 7 Steps to Radiance.
People, today, spend too much time making sure the outer looks “right”, not necessarily paying as much attention to the inner aspects of their health and wellbeing. Vibrant health is a multifaceted effort; 3 systems, in particular need to work at an optimal level for the body to be energetic, the mind clear and the heart joyful. The liver; to purify, the gut to absorb and assimilate the nutrients, and the large intestine to eliminate the waste.
To help support these systems I encourage the following 7 steps:
1. Start the day with warm water and add a few slices of lemon or grapefruit.
*All of your food, or the majority of it, needs to be organic, free from pesticides and other toxins. If you can’t buy organic, don’t panic, there is a simple way to reduce the toxins in your food. All you need to do is soak your fruits and vegetables in water, with a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.
2. Fall in love with green.
And not just in clothing ? green coloured vegetables are highly alkalising and high in chlorophyll. This is a great blood purifier and oxygeniser for a glowing skin and a happy liver.
3. Switch to green tea over coffee.
The caffeine contained in green tea will still give you the clarity you are looking for without dehydrating and taxing your adrenal glands. Your adrenal glands are so important for overall balance; if you are constantly under the pump with stress and using stimulants to keep going it will lead to an adrenal burnout. This is a major factor in chronic fatigue and hormonal imbalances.
4. Skin Brushing.
Daily and for 5 minutes only, this is a fantastic way to stimulate your lymphatic system and help loosen the mucus and other toxic wastes that may be clogging your body. The benefit extends not only to improved circulation but a less foggy mind.
This is a no brainer, however being busy and running after children or doing chores doesn’t count as exercise. You need this to become a daily ritual, with at least 20 minutes dedicated to whatever movement you choose to participate in, mindfully and wholeheartedly.
6. Smiling “meditation”
When you smile you are sending a signal to your brain to activate its happiness and gratitude barometer. The world definitely needs more kind, loving, and compassionate people so lead by example! ?
7. Send your body “a love note” at least once a day!
This can be as simple as stopping in the middle of the day and thanking the body for all that it’s doing to keep you healthy and alive. A little self-appreciation goes a long way. Remember, you can not give from an empty cup. Fill it up with the juiciest stuff! Cheers!
